G & N left for quite the adventure on Friday afternoon. It rained most of Friday and Saturday. They drove to Utah so that they could attend the Priesthood session of General Conference together. They spent a little time with family Saturday and then drove down to Salt Lake for Conference.
Here, they are standing outside of the Conference Center. G had to leave the camera in the car because he was told that there were no cameras allowed in the Center.
So, he whipped out his cell phone to take this picture of N inside the Conference Center before the session began. One of the memorable things for both G & N was the 20,000 men singing "Praise to the Man". That's one of MY favorite hymns. I would have loved to hear that, too.
Our brother in-in-law drove up from Las Vegas to take our nephew, who's also 12, to the same session (they sat on opposite sides during conference). So, they arranged to meet after conference for pie. Another brother-in-law, his 2 boys and Grandpa came for pie, too. I didn't even have to ask what kind of pie G & N each ordered. N = Pumpkin Pie and G = Key Lime Pie.
These 3 boys are all less than 6 months apart. They get a long great and enjoy being together. Even though this was a very quick visit, it was very memorable. N misses his cousins a lot.
Another stop on the way home was at the Reno Temple. They didn't stay too long. Just long enough to walk around and enjoy the sight. They returned home around 6:30pm on Sunday. We were so glad to have them home safe and sound. We got to hear the hightlights of the trip during our FHE on Monday night. It was a quick trip, but one that we know that N won't ever forget.

how neat!!!
What a great experience to do together. I have some great ones when I left on my mission, my parents took me back to the MTC. The pie looks yummy!
I am impressed that G remembered to take pictures :). It looks like they had a great time!
What a memorable experience! I wish we could have seen them while they were here, but understand the whole time constraint. C is already asking when he will be able to go with dad to these meetings. =) C's favorite part of conference weekend was the children's choir on Saturday afternoon--he liked to see kids there and to sing along with them to songs he knew.
It looks like they had a fun trip! You'll have to tell G to try the key lime pie at Costa Vida, its my favorite and its homemade!
It was fun to have them both out here. Even if it was for only two and a half hours! haha
What a great tradition/experience for both G & his boys. Thanks for sharing.
N what a picture of Nevada! Never knew it looked so good. Thanks for stopping by. We really enjoyed having you. Hopefully next time we'll get to see everyone.
