Another Trip to the Cement Slides

We needed to get out of the house yesterday.  So, we grabbed what cardboard we had and headed over to the cement slides.  It was a perfect early afternoon to go.  Not crowded at all. Not too hot ... yet.  T got a lot of runs down the slides.  J only went down a few times before tripping at the end and really scraping himself up.  Poor guy!  We stayed for a little while and then I took the boys through the McD's drive-thru to grab dollar menu grub.  Then we relaxed in our home for the afternoon because it was SO hot outside.

Get me OUT of the house

I just HAD to get out of the house today. I'd been pretty sick over the weekend, as well as J & B. We were a fun bunch for sure!! Even though it was only @ 40 degrees outside, I needed to be outside. I grabbed some cardboard, the boys and we headed to the cement slides. We took a few runs and then ran back to the van -- too cold. Plus, the slides weren't as slippery. I guess there was some residual water or something. We stopped by McDonald's for lunch and headed home. Wasn't much, but it sure felt good to go somewhere and do something outside.

Cement Slides

Mom even went for a few rides

B at the end of a his slide

T halfway down the slide & loving it!

J ready to launch!

N & T ready for take-off!!

This morning, we found a cute little park with 2 cement slides tucked way in the back. We came prepared with cardboard and were ready to go. For the SECOND time this week, once we arrived at a park (this one included), a HUGE group of kids arrived seconds later and took over the park! I kid you not! Two huge white vans unloaded dozens and dozens of kids. My boys just watched as the once empty park was flooded with people. It was awful. We stayed a while to get several turns down these really cool slides. We definitely want to go back -- just not when it's so crowded. There's lots of shade, and there were goats down the hill. I'm keeping my cardboard in my van so we can go back soon and be ready. Hopefully, no white vans and no Adventure Clubs will be there are the same time!! Uggh!
