B is in white, in the center of this picture. His game was @ 3pm and it was SO STINKIN' hot. His team lost 0-3, but they did put up a good fight!
Love the expression on his face. Wonder what he was thinking??
This is SO typical B. Glad that G captured this moment.
Once again, B is working with a new team this year. He knows several of the boys from school, and has been on previous teams with 2 of them. He has a great coach. She is very no-nonsense and is very structured. B has been thriving with this coach. It was a tough year last year for B. He seriously thought about hanging up his cleats. He's so glad that he stuck with it. Even though his team didn't win today, he felt good about his efforts. His coach gave great feedback after the game. She pointed out many of the great things they did, and talked about what they will be working on during practice. Many of the boys just tuckered out. The field is MUCH bigger than practice, and it was triple digits today.
J had his 1st game @ 10am today. He said he was very nervous. He's been fortunate to have been with this team for the past 2 years, and to have the same awesome coach.
Below is a sequence of pictures capturing J's FIRST goal in a game. I almost missed it. J is in the center of the picture, right in front of the ball wearing green.
He closes in on the ball and ...
... does a slide kick ... (he's sitting down now ... waiting ... hoping ...)

Happy soccer Saturday! I don't know how you survived the 3 pm game. It is almost too hot to be outside. Glad B's game went well. A HUGE congrats to J on his goal!Way to G-O-A-L J! I am impressed with G's pictures. It is so awesome that he was able to capture the goal on film.
Again - great pictures of the boys. Thanks for keeping us updated.
I remember playing soccer. I can't remember why I ever liked it though. Now isn't that sad!
What will happen when all four play at once? Now there's a good reason for cloning!
I am some what regretting not signing up my kids this year. It is just so busy with football in the fall---and CD was wishy-washy when I asked her if she wanted to play again. Of course, now she wants too--I know in the spring we will be wishing we had soccer. Although she really likes baseball and seems to be more of a natural there. CE is the one who will really be missing it. I might put him on a co-ed in the spring. We will see. He seems to need a sport going on at all times, it is the over-lap that I don't like!
By the way, fun pictures!
